Idman.Biz reports that the politician has not ruled out the possibility of the US national team winning the tournament.
"It's a great honor to be here. Gianni (Infantino) has done a fantastic job. Ticket sales are breaking records. I mean, we've already broken a record, which is great," Trump said.
In response to the question "Can the US win the World Cup?", the American leader said, "I think it's possible. I think a lot of people have a chance here. The competition is very tough, but I would say they (the US national team) have at least a small chance."
