Former Italian national team player Dino Baccio shared his thoughts on the current state of Italian football.
Idman.Biz reports that the Italian national team previously failed to qualify for the World Cup for the third consecutive time.
"Honestly, a lot has changed since I played. They don't invest as much in the development of young people as they did when I played. Back then, we really developed great players. Now our football and our Serie A have become boring. Previously, more attention was paid to fast play and counter-attacks. There was a lot of concentration, smart strategy.
Now football players try to enjoy passing the ball. They enjoy it... To be honest, it's all boring. The game has lost its individuality.
Our league wants fully formed, ready players. Superstars are no longer being produced. In addition, 99.9% of the players in our league are foreigners. It is difficult for Italians to get into the main squad. Even for me it would be difficult today.
This is dangerous. I don't know what will happen if the situation doesn't change," Baccio said.
