Different teams will face each other for the 24th time in the Azerbaijan Cup final.
According to "Report", referring to the official website of the Professional Football League, 23 different pairs have faced each other in the previous 30 finals.
Of the previous 23 pairs, one has met 3 times, five have met 2 times, and the others have met once. The record belongs to "Neftchi" and "Qarabag." In the duels of the pair that took place three times, Baku won in 1995/1996 (3:0), and Aghdam won in 2014/2015 (3:1) and 2015/2016 (1:0) seasons.
In four pairs, the same team won both matches. "Neftchi" defeated "Shamkir" in 1998/1999 (0:0, p. - 5:3) and 2003/04 (1:0, extra time), "Kapaz" defeated "Qarabag" in 1997/1998 (2:0) and 1999/2000 (2:1), "Khazar Lankaran" defeated "Inter" in 2007/2008 (2:0, extra time) and 2010/11 (1:1, p. - 4:2), and "Qarabag" defeated "Zira" in 2021/2022 (1:1, p. - 4:3) and 2023/2024 (2:1) seasons. In the finals between "Neftchi" and "Gabala," each team has won once. In the 2013/2014 season, Baku won (1:1, p. - 3:2), and in the 2022/2023 season, Gabala won (1:0, extra time) cup.
It should be noted that this time "Qarabag" and "Sabah" teams will face each other in the final of the Azerbaijan Cup. The decisive match will be held on May 31 at the Sumgayit city stadium named after Mehdi Huseynzade.
