France national team head coach Didier Deschamps has spoken about his future and confirmed that the 2025/26 season will be his last at the helm of the national team.
"Do I know what I'll be doing in September 2026? Yes, of course. Everything is programmed, you know me. After that, I won't be with the team, that's for sure. I'll be somewhere else, but I don't know where. I feel like I'm saying goodbye, but I'm not. This is my last year with the team, that's all," Deschamps told L'Equipe.
Deschamps has been coaching the French national team since 2012. Under his leadership, the team won the 2018 World Cup, the 2021 Nations League, and also reached the finals of EURO 2016 and the 2022 World Cup.
It should be reminded that the French national team is the opponent of the Azerbaijani team in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. The teams will play on October 10 in France and on November 16 in Baku.
