France national team coach Didier Deschamps has criticized the referees who officiated the friendly match (3:1) between France and Colombia.
İdman.Biz reports, citing foreign media, that Didier Deschamps expressed his dissatisfaction with the rough tackle on France national team player Michael Olise.
Deschamps stated that although South American teams are known for their intensity, this episode crossed the line:
"The last 'slide tackle'... luckily Olise jumped, otherwise he could have lost his leg. The absence of VAR creates these conditions. Aggression is one thing, but this is already too much."
He added that the episode made him very angry and he also complained to the reserve referee: "I was very angry. This is not football, it's like American football. There is no place for such tackles here."
