A final decision will be made today in France at a court hearing regarding the claim for compensation of more than £100 million for the death of the football player of "Cardiff City" (club representing Wales).
Idman.Biz reported this with reference to foreign media.
The management of "Cardiff City" believes that Sala could have helped them stay in the Premier League and that "Nantes" is responsible for these financial losses.
The French club has previously rejected all of "Cardiff City"'s claims.
No witnesses will be questioned in court, all evidence has already been examined by the judges. The decision will consist of two parts – first, liability will be determined, and then it will be announced whether compensation will be paid and the amount.
Let us remind you that almost seven years have passed since the plane crash in which Argentine football player and pilot David Ibbotson died. In 2019, the single-engine "Piper Malibu" plane flying from Nantes to Cardiff, the capital of Wales, disappeared from radar on January 22. There were two people on board the plane - pilot Dave Ibbotson and football player Emiliano Sala. After the searches, Dorset County Police confirmed that the body recovered from the wreckage of the crashed plane belonged to Argentine football player Emiliano Sala. The Argentine striker was transferred from the French club "Nantes" to the Welsh club "Cardiff City" on January 19.
