Former Manchester City player David Silva has stated that he would like to see Josep Guardiola as the head coach of the Spanish national team, which is currently led by Luis de la Fuente. He told "Goal" about this:
"I would like to see Guardiola as the head coach of the Spanish national team. Luis de la Fuente is doing a phenomenal job right now, but it would be great if Pep was there in the future.
He could bring a football style based on good ball control and consistent victories. This is a bit similar to the current philosophy of the Spanish national team."
Note that Guardiola has been managing Manchester City since 2016. His contract with the club runs until 2027.
