David Beckham could participate in the project to sell Manchester United.
Idman.Biz, citing the Daily Star, reports that a UAE consortium is preparing an official offer to buy a controlling stake in the club from the Glazer family and wants to see Beckham as a member of the campaign.
According to reports, the former England captain will be offered the opportunity to acquire a stake in Manchester United as an ambassador for the project. Beckham already has experience in managing football clubs. He owns Inter Miami and the English club Salford City.
If Beckham refuses to participate, alternative candidates to support investors could be other United legends - Eric Cantona or Wayne Rooney.
It is noted that Beckham, in previous interviews, criticized the current owners, saying that the club needs changes and investments, and the loss of fans' trust is a dangerous signal for any management.
It is noted that the market value of Manchester United is estimated at approximately 2 billion pounds. However, according to a number of media reports, the Glazer family is ready to sell the controlling stake for no less than 5 billion pounds.
