The Czech Football Association has stripped West Ham United midfielder Tomáš Souček of his captaincy. The national team players have also been deprived of financial bonuses as punishment for not acknowledging the fans after the World Cup 2026 qualifying match against Gibraltar (6:0).

The Czech national team will participate in the play-off stage to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. They finished second in Group L with 16 points.
