Former Turkish FIFA referee Cüneyt Çakır has been appointed to a match in the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League involving "Qarabag."
Idman.biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that the former referee, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Referees Committee at the Georgian Football Federation, will be the referee inspector for the match that the Aghdam club will play against "Benfica" in Portugal.
He performed the same function last season in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League match between the Azerbaijani champion and the French team "Lyon" in Baku.
It should be noted that the "Benfica" - "Qarabag" match, which will be held in Lisbon on September 16, will start at 23:00 Baku time.
