Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has stated that Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal's statements before "El Clasico" inspired the "Royal Club" players.
Idman.Biz reports that on the eve of the match, Yamal claimed that Real Madrid was constantly complaining and cheating. The game ended with a 2:1 victory for the Madrid club.
"I think Lamine is a great player. He will be a defining player at Barcelona, but he obviously said something that lit El Clasico a little bit.
When your heart rate and adrenaline go up, you sometimes say things you regret later. But I think that's what El Clasico is. Sometimes we need an environment like that. After last year, when we lost to them four times, we needed such a spark from the opponent. When they beat us, they didn't show us any respect either," said Courtois.
