A woman who stole from the house of famous football player Javid Taghiyev in Baku has appeared before the court.
İdman.biz, referring to "Qaynarinfo", reports that the person accused of committing the theft is A.S., born in 1980, a resident of the Ujar region.
She was charged under articles 177.2.2 (repeated theft), 177.2.3 (theft by illegal entry into a dwelling) and 177.2.4 (theft causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The investigation established that A.S. worked as a chief specialist at ASAN Service Center No. 7 from June 1, 2022. The victim, Javid Taghiyev's wife, G.M., also worked as a chief specialist in the same institution, and they were close friends with the accused.
Because A.S. had a debt of approximately 5,000 manats, she decided to steal from G.M.'s house. First, she entered the room where ASAN Service employees put their bags and stole the house key from G.M.'s bag. In June 2024, after G.M. went on vacation to Turkey with her family, A.S. entered her apartment and stole property worth 6,500 manats. The homeowners were unaware of this incident for 8 months.
A.S. committed the next theft on January 1, 2025. Javid Taghiyev went to the Tovuz region with his family. This time, A.S. entered his apartment and stole the following items:
* A "Tissot" men's wristwatch worth 2,500 manats;
* A white gold engagement ring worth 6,000 manats;
* Three pairs of children's gold earrings worth 800 manats;
* Another "Tissot" men's wristwatch worth 700 manats;

* A denim jacket worth 50 manats;
* Another jacket worth 50 manats;
* Denim trousers worth 30 manats;
* A "Canon" camera worth 400 manats;
* 300 manats in cash.
As a result, the victim suffered a total of 11,230 manats in material damage.
After learning about the incident, Javid Taghiyev appealed to law enforcement agencies, and A.S. was detained. She was dismissed from her position. Since A.S. fully compensated for the material damage caused during the investigation, Javid Taghiyev's family did not file a complaint against her.
The court sentenced A.S. to restriction of liberty. Taking into account that she spent 2 months and 2 days in prison and 3 months and 29 days under house arrest, a total of 1 year and 2 days of the sentence was deducted, and as a result, a sentence of 1 year, 11 months and 28 days of restriction of liberty remained in force. During this period, A.S. will be monitored with an electronic bracelet.
It should be noted that during his professional career, Javid Taghiyev played for the clubs "Turan Tovuz", AZAL, "Qarabağ", "Zira", "Sumgayit", "Sabah", "Sabail" and "Jabrayil", and most recently wore the uniform of MOIK, a representative of the 1st league. He played two matches for the main national team of Azerbaijan in 2015-2016. The 33-year-old midfielder won the Premier League twice (2014/15, 2015/16) and the Azerbaijan Cup twice (2014/15, 2015/16) with "Qarabağ".
