A French court has rejected Cardiff's compensation claim regarding the transfer of former Nantes striker Emiliano Sala. This was reported by the French press, according to Sport24.az.
The Welsh club sought more than 120 million euros in compensation from the French club, taking into account lost profits and other losses. Cardiff management believes that Sala could have helped the team retain its place in the elite at the end of the 2018/19 season.
The court also ordered Cardiff to pay Nantes 400,000 pounds sterling for legal costs and moral damages.
It should be noted that Sala's death occurred after his transfer from Nantes to Cardiff. The striker became the most expensive transfer in the history of the Welsh club, with 17 million euros. However, he was unable to debut in his new team. The Argentine striker died in a plane crash.
