"Corinthians" has sacked head coach Dorival Junior after losing 1-0 at home to Internacional in the 10th round of the Brazilian Championship. Sport24.az reports that the club's official website announced this.
The team's winless streak has now reached 9 games this season. "Corinthians", currently in 16th place in the standings, is only two points away from the relegation zone.
The 63-year-old Dorival Junior will be temporarily replaced by U-20 coach William Batista.
It should be noted that the contract of the dismissed head coach was valid until December 31, 2026. Dorival Junior joined the team in April 2025. Under his leadership, "Corinthians" won 26 out of 63 matches, drew 19, and lost 18.
