Congo defeated Cameroon with a minimal score (1:0) in last night's match, securing the right to play in the crucial match of the African qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. Sport24.az reports that Congo is close to participating in the World Cup for the second time in its history.
Vincent Aboubakar, the striker of "Neftchi," also appeared in the Cameroon squad. The striker replaced Magri at halftime.
It should be noted that Congo will face Nigeria in the decisive match for a World Cup ticket, after Nigeria defeated Gabon 4-1 in extra time. The winning team will qualify for the intercontinental qualifying round of the World Championship.
