Yesterday, a "C-130" military cargo plane belonging to the brotherly country, heading from Azerbaijan to Turkey, crashed in Georgia. As a result of the accident, all 20 soldiers on board, including crew members, died. The incident was met with deep sorrow in both Turkey and Azerbaijan.
İdman.Biz reports that, in connection with the tragedy, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and many of the country's leading clubs have sent letters of condolence to the families and relatives of the martyrs, and to the Turkish Armed Forces.
The Turkish Football Federation said in a statement:
"We wish God's mercy to our heroic soldiers who were martyred as a result of the cargo plane crash on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border while coming from Azerbaijan to Turkey, and we extend our condolences to their grieving families, relatives, the Turkish Armed Forces and our nation".
The message of the "Beşiktaş" football club says:
"We wish God's mercy to our heroic soldiers who were martyred as a result of the crash of our military cargo plane, which took off from Azerbaijan to come to our country, on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, and we extend our condolences to their families, relatives and our nation".
The leadership of the "Fenerbahçe" football club also noted that they met the incident with deep sadness:
"Our nation's condolences. We learned with great sadness that the "C-130" type military plane, which took off from Azerbaijan to come to our country, crashed on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border. We wish God's mercy to our soldiers who were martyred as a result of this tragic incident, and patience to their families and our nation".
The leadership of the "Galatasaray" football club shared the same feelings:
"We received the news of the crash of our "C-130" military transport plane, which took off from Azerbaijan to come to our country, on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border with deep sadness. We wish God's mercy to our martyrs and express our condolences to their grieving families and our nation".
The "Trabzonspor" club's post emphasized:
"We wish God's mercy to our heroic soldiers who were martyred as a result of the crash of our military transport plane, which took off from Azerbaijan to come to Turkey, in Georgia, and we extend our condolences to their grieving families and the dear Turkish nation".
All representatives of the Turkish football family once again demonstrated solidarity in the face of this tragedy and remembered the memory of the martyrs with deep respect.
