The US club "Columbus Crew," which transferred Azerbaijani footballer Nariman Akhundzade, has strengthened its squad with a famous midfielder.
"Report" informs that the MLS representative has officially announced the transfer of former Portuguese national team member Andre Gomes.
A contract has been signed with the 32-year-old footballer, who joined the team as a free agent, until June 2027. The agreement also includes a clause that the term can be extended for another year.
During his career, Gomes has played for Portuguese club "Benfica," Spanish clubs "Valencia," "Barcelona," English club "Everton," and French club "Lille," achieving many successes. He became the Spanish champion with "Barcelona" (2017/18), won the Copa del Rey twice, and the Spanish Super Cup once. A graduate of "Benfica," the midfielder has been a champion, cup winner, and league cup winner with the Portuguese club.
The experienced player, who has played 29 games for the Portuguese national team, won the European Championship title in 2016.
It should be noted that Nariman Akhundzade's contract with "Columbus Crew" is valid until the summer of 2029. The US representative will pay "Qarabag" a little more than 1 million euros for this transfer.
