UEFA Referees Committee President Pierluigi Collina answered a question about linesmen raising their flag late in situations where the offside position is doubtful. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement to AS about this:
"We will introduce an improved version of the offside detection technology. Sometimes players run 40 meters and only then does the assistant referee raise the flag.
This creates a risk for the players, as they can get injured. Therefore, if we can provide technological support to the assistant referee, the offside decision will be made faster."
