Claudio Ranieri, the technical director of "Roma", may lead the Italian national team. Sport24.az reports that "La Gazetta delo Sport" has reported on this.
According to the source, the 74-year-old specialist may consider returning to coaching, as he is currently in a strained relationship with "Roma" head coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Ranieri's last job as a coach was "Roma", where he worked from November 2024 to June 2025. Although the "Wolves" finished fifth in Serie A under his leadership, they stopped competing in the 1/8 final stage of the Europa League. Ranieri was "at the helm" of the Greek national team in 2014. The Italian specialist currently holds the position of technical director at "Roma".
It should be noted that Silvio Baldini, who worked in the Italian youth team, has been appointed as the interim coach of the "azzurri". Some time ago, the press reported that Massimiliano Allegri and Roberto Mancini would be the head coach of the Italian national team. Antonio Conte is also mentioned among the candidates.
