Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has spoken about preparations for the 2026 World Cup and infrastructure redevelopment.
Idman.Biz reports that the World Cup will be co-hosted by Mexico, the USA and Canada.
"This is not just a time to see the best football, but also a time to tell the world who we are, what Mexico is - not just a country with great cultural wealth, but also a country that is living a historic moment. This will be a special time that will significantly impact the economy, and we will be ready in a few months," Sheinbaum said.
Mexico will host 13 matches at the World Cup, five of which will be in the capital. The remaining eight games will be held in Guadalajara and Monterrey.
