Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Christian Romero has decided to leave the club at the end of the current season.
The 27-year-old Argentine player informed the team's management of his intention to leave during the summer transfer window.
According to Idman.Biz, citing The Telegraph, Romero's departure is considered permanent, even though Tottenham is working to avoid relegation from the Premier League and succeed in the UEFA Champions League.
According to the source, Tottenham management had previously planned to renew their squad before the new season, and Romero could be their first major transfer. The Argentine footballer joined Tottenham from Atalanta in 2022 for 52 million euros. This season, the defender has made 28 appearances, scored six goals and provided four assists.
Romero's current contract with Tottenham runs until 2029, and according to Transfermarkt, his transfer value is 50 million euros.
