The nominees for the "Player of the Week" award for the 8th round of the Champions League have been announced. Sport24.az reports that this was announced on UEFA's official website.
The nominees include Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Benfica midfielder Andreas Schjelderup, Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, and Bayer midfielder Malik Tillman.
Mac Allister scored twice against Qarabag (6-0), Schjelderup against Real Madrid (4-2), Pedro against Napoli (3-2), and Tillman against Villarreal (3:0).
Interestingly, the compilers of the list did not include Benfica goalkeeper Anatoli Trubin, who scored in the 98th minute to take his team to the 1/8 finals.
