The Champions League format will not change.
Idman.Biz reports that this decision was made during a meeting between UEFA representatives and managers of "A22 Sports" company.
The "A22" company proposed a large Super League project consisting of 96 clubs. In this league, teams will be divided into groups and a promotion-relegation system will be applied across levels.
It should be noted that the initial Super League project was presented in 2021, but was suspended after negative reactions from the football community. Initially, 12 teams announced their support for the project. However, nine of them later withdrew their applications.
Nevertheless, the Super League idea is still on the agenda. In 2023, the European Union Court of Justice ruled that FIFA and UEFA cannot prevent the creation of new leagues.
