UEFA Champions League may change its official match ball supplier for the first time in 25 years.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to "The Athletic."
According to the source, "UC3," a joint venture between Relevent Football Partners and the UEFA and European Club Association (ECA), is launching an official tender for the supply of match balls for the European Cup. The winner will obtain the right to supply the ball starting from the 2027/2028 season.
It is reported that the main reason for this move is the desire to increase sponsorship revenue. The current ball supplier is "Adidas," which is interested in extending the contract. "Puma" and "Nike" are also monitoring the situation and are considering strengthening their position in the football equipment market through a similar partnership.
"Nike" previously supplied match balls for this tournament from 1998 to 2000, while "Adidas" has held this role since 2001.
