"We know that the game against France will be difficult. The most important thing is how we will defend against the opponent." These words were said by former Azerbaijani national team player Ceyhun Sultanov in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former midfielder spoke about the match that the Azerbaijani national team will play against the French team in the DÇ-2026 qualifying round:
"If we defend properly, there will be no big defeat. I don't believe that any coach will prefer an open game in the match against France. The level difference between the opponents is great. We know very well who is playing in the French squad. A football player on the field must run instead of two people so that a big defeat is not recorded here. This is our team."
Sultanov wished the team success:
"I believe we will see a completely different national team. Actually, I can't say much, any result can be recorded. Even if we defend well, they will find a gap and organize an attack. Our wish is that our football players show a good game."
It should be noted that the France-Azerbaijan match will start today at the "Parc des Princes" stadium at 22:45 Baku time.
