UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has made strong statements regarding the stadium crisis plaguing Italian football.
Idman.Biz reports, citing "La Gazzetta dello Sport", that he has warned the country that it could lose the right to host Euro 2032.
Ceferin called Italy's sports infrastructure one of the worst in Europe. The UEFA chief stated that if the local authorities do not solve the problem of modernizing the stadiums, the venue of the tournament may be changed:
"The European Championship in 2032 should be held in Italy, but the condition of the stadiums there can only be described as 'complicated'. Italy's political leaders should ask themselves why the country has the worst football infrastructure in Europe? Euro 2032 is planned and must take place. I hope the infrastructure will be ready. Otherwise, the tournament will not be held in Italy."
