American club San Diego Wave has announced the transfer of forward Catarina Macario on its official website.
Idman.Biz reports that the player has joined the American team from London's Chelsea, signing the biggest contract in women's football history. The total value of the contract is $8 million. Macario's contract with her new club runs until the end of 2030.
Catarina Macario was born in Brazil and is a graduate of Brazilian and American clubs. She has played for Lyon and Chelsea. Macario also plays for the US national team.
San Diego Wave is currently fourth in the National Women's Soccer League.
