Carlo Ancelotti, the former head coach of Real Madrid, who currently coaches the Brazilian national team, spoke about his approach to footballers and how decisions are made within the team.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to the Spanish media.
The experienced specialist stated that he tries to treat all players equally:
"I try to approach everyone equally. Of course, I don't explain to every player why they didn't appear on the field. But if we are talking about a footballer who usually plays in the main squad, then I consider it important to explain the situation".
According to Ancelotti, sometimes the head coach has to make professional decisions, and this can affect personal relationships:
"If I keep a footballer with whom I have a good relationship in reserve, he may not greet me the next day - this is perfectly normal. I put the player, not the person, on the reserve. Not everyone can understand this".
