The Cape Verde national team qualified for the final stage of the 2026 World Cup by defeating Eswatini 3-0 in the qualifying round.
Lent.az reports that the African representative took first place in the group with 23 points after 10 rounds.
The Cape Verde national team will play in the World Cup for the first time in its history.
It is the 22nd team to secure its participation in the World Cup. Previously, Mexico, USA, Canada (all hosts), as well as Japan, Iran, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria and Ghana secured this right.
The tournament will run from June 11 to July 19.
