Former Real Madrid and Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares has reacted to Los Blancos forward Vinicius Junior's difficulty in renewing his contract.
Idman.Biz reports that Vinicius has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the club this season, scoring five goals and providing eight assists. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
"Based on what Vinicius has done, his demands clearly do not match the figures being discussed. And this is the player's smallest problem.
The player is asking his agent to insist on his plans because his contract expires soon. He also says that the club should pay based on his potential, as he is only 25 years old and because of who he is, he is almost a Ballon d'Or winner and at the same time an excellent player who secured the Champions League title by scoring the winning goal.
But Vinicius' current demands do not match the figures that will be offered. This applies to him and most Real Madrid players," Sport.es quotes the former Spanish international goalkeeper.
