Riccardo Calafiori, the 23-year-old defender of Arsenal and the Italian national team, spoke about his country's prospects for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that Italy is second in Group I with nine points.
"Theoretically, I'm a defender, but I'm enjoying my game right now. When there is freedom and understanding, I can put everything on the line and help the team. I just can't imagine Italy not being able to qualify for the World Cup. We failed the last two times and we will do everything we can to prevent it from happening again," Sky Sports quoted the player as saying.
The Italians will face Estonia (October 11) and Israel (October 14) in qualifying matches.
