It is difficult to justify the reason for Benfica's defeat. Sport24.az reports that this was said by the head coach of the Portuguese club, Bruno Lage, at a press conference.
The expert shared his thoughts at a press conference after the first round match of the main stage of the UEFA Champions League against "Qarabag":
"It is difficult to justify the reason for the result. This was not the result we wanted. We started the game well, we performed as we wanted for the first 30 minutes. Unfortunately, after conceding the first goal, we lost control. I think the team needs to recover after this defeat."
He answered the Portuguese journalist's question "do you still want to continue your work?" like this:
"Don't misunderstand my words. You are doing your job here, and I am doing mine. Today I am at the press conference to answer your questions."
It should be noted that the match "Benfica" - "Qarabag" ended with a 3:2 victory of the Agdam representative. After the final whistle of the match, local fans showed Bruno Lage a white flag as he left the field and demanded his resignation.
