Flamengo's Brazilian forward Bruno Henrique has been suspended for 12 matches.
Report reports with reference to AFP that the footballer is accused of deliberately receiving a yellow card for the sake of a bet made by his relatives.
The Brazilian Sports Tribunal has not only disqualified the 34-year-old footballer, but also fined him 11,000 US dollars for violating sports ethics.
The matter concerns an episode in the November 2023 match against Santos (1:2). Henrique received a yellow card for a foul. He was later sent off with a second yellow card for insulting the referee.
It was also reported that a criminal case would be initiated against the football player on charges of sports fraud, and he faces imprisonment from two to six years.
