An interesting and unusual incident in Uzbekistan has caused a wide resonance on social networks. A local resident's bride performing 'kelin-salam' (a greeting given by a newly arrived bride to the father-in-law, mother-in-law, and other family elders) to a photo of football star Lionel Messi has sparked debate.
Idman.Biz reports that the hero of the event, the father-in-law, is a fan of the Spanish team "Barcelona". He decorated his house with the team's flags and also made a full-size photo of "Barcelona's" former striker Lionel Messi with his own photo. At the request of the father-in-law, the bride, newly arrived in the family, gave a traditional kelin-salam towards the image.
