Former President of the Bulgarian Football Union, as well as former national team goalkeeper Borislav Mihaylov, passed away at the age of 63.
According to "Report", citing Bulgarian National Television, Mihaylov was hospitalized in November 2025 with a stroke diagnosis.
During his career, Borislav Mihaylov was a three-time Bulgarian champion and a three-time winner of the national cup. He defended the honor of the national team from 1983-1996. He is remembered as the second player with the most appearances in the history of Bulgarian football with 102 matches.
It should be noted that B.Mihaylov was the main goalkeeper of the team at the 1994 World Cup, where the Bulgarian national team reached the semi-finals.
