Ahead of the away match against Napoli in the Champions League group stage, bookmakers continue to see Qarabag as a clear underdog.
According to Idman.Biz, the odds for the Italian club's victory vary around 1.28–1.33, a draw is given 5.5–6.0, and Qarabag's victory is given odds of 9.0-11.0.
In terms of probability, these figures mean approximately 70–75 percent for Napoli's victory, approximately 10 percent for the Azerbaijani champion's victory, and 15-18 percent for a draw.
Interestingly, according to bookmakers' assessments, Qarabag's lowest chance in the main stage of the Champions League was in the away match against Benfica (3:2) at the start. At that time, the odds offered for the victory of the Aghdam club were approximately 14.50, which indicated that its probability of success was less than 10 percent.
The match in which analysts gave the highest value to the Azerbaijani team was the home game against Copenhagen (2:0). The odds offered for Qarabag's victory varied around 2.60–2.70, which corresponded to a probability of approximately 40 percent. In that match, the Aghdam team was as close as possible to the status of favorite.
Qarabag also played as an outsider in the away match against Athletic (1:3) in Bilbao and in the match against Chelsea (2:2) in Baku, but not as prominently as in Lisbon. In those games, the odds given for the victory of the Aghdam representative were around 9.00–10.00, which are close to the figures currently offered before the match against Napoli.
Thus, before the trip to Naples, bookmakers rate Qarabag's chances of winning higher than in the match against Benfica, but lower than in the home match against Copenhagen. At the same time, the results shown by the Azerbaijani champion in the current season have already shown that even against the background of such odds, our team can resist any favorite.
It should be reminded that the Napoli - Qarabag match will be held on Tuesday, November 25, at the Diego Maradona stadium in Naples and will start at 23:59 Baku time. After four rounds of the group stage, Gurban Gurbanov's team is 15th in the standings with seven points, while Antonio Conte's players are 24th with four points.
