"Only with positive memories… It was one of the best periods of my career."
This was stated by Bosnian and Herzegovinian defender Bojan Letic, who left "Sabah", in an interview with futbolinfo.az.
We present this interview.
– How did your departure from "Sabah" happen? What do you think about it? After all, you were the second football player who played the most games in the team.
– This question should be addressed to the club, not to me. They should explain to you exactly what happened.
– Overall, what memories did you leave Azerbaijan with?
– Only with positive memories… It was one of the best periods of my career. I will always remember the time I spent in "Sabah" and Baku with good memories. I came for 6 months, but I stayed for 4 years – this explains everything. Baku will remain my second home.
– When you came to Azerbaijan, you were one of the best players in your position. Later, there was a decline. What do you attribute this to?
– This can mainly be attributed to the last year. From that time on, my playing time started to decrease. Coach changes can have a big impact because every coach has his own system – some suit you, some don't. "Sabah" with the former head coach of "Sabah", Murad Musayev, who currently coaches "Krasnodar", was not the same as the later "Sabah". To be honest, when Murad Musayev left, I also wanted to leave the club, but since I extended the contract two weeks before that, it was not possible.
– How did frequent changes of head coach affect your career?
– I would say that one of the main reasons was the defense system. Even during the time of Krunoslav Rendulić (he was a defense coach), I had the best statistical indicators. I think they weren't using my strengths properly. After Murad Musayev left, I also partially lost my motivation.
– This year "Sabah" is making a good impression and is the leader in the Premier League. Do you think they can become champions?
– I only wish them success.
– If you receive an offer from Azerbaijan again, are you ready to play?
– It is impossible to know this in advance.
