The Portuguese club "Boavista" will cease operations. Sport24.az reports that "A Bola" has reported this.
"Boavista" has already been officially declared bankrupt. It is reported that the players have not received salaries for several months. Due to the club's dire financial situation, they were not even allowed to apply to be promoted to the fourth division of the Portuguese championship.
The team in question played in the amateur division, but could not even pay the electricity bills for their home stadium. As a result, "Boavista" suffered several technical defeats.
It should be noted that "Boavista" was founded in 1903. The team won the Portuguese championship in the 2000/01 season. "Boavista" is a five-time winner of the Portuguese Cup and a three-time winner of the national Super Cup.
