The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has released a new statement regarding the large-scale betting investigation that began in the football world.
Idman.Biz reports that the prosecutor's office stated that the current investigation is not limited to the process that started with the referees and in which the names of the football players are mentioned, and that the investigation may expand further after new evidence is obtained.
The statement emphasized that the country's football consists not only of football players and referees, but also of numerous partners in this system. For this reason, it was noted that there is a "possibility of systematic and gradual expansion" of the investigation.
The prosecutor's office also warned against believing unfounded claims circulating on social networks and added:
"Within the framework of the investigation, according to Article 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code, all information and documents are obtained from private and public institutions as quickly and completely as possible. The investigations are carried out with high precision".
