Portuguese national team midfielder Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of the current season.
Idman.Biz reports that the footballer shared information about this on his social media accounts, and later the news was officially confirmed by the club's press service.
Bernardo has defended the honor of the "citizens" since 2017. During his nine years in Manchester, he won a total of 19 important titles, including the Champions League Cup and six English Premier League championships.
The Portuguese footballer directly participated in the club's historic achievements – scoring 100 points in the Premier League, achieving a "treble", and setting a record for the fourth consecutive championship.
In his farewell address, Silva emphasized that this city and club gave him more than he expected:
"The victories and achievements we have achieved together are a legacy that will remain in my heart forever. I came here as a footballer, but I am leaving as one of you, a lifelong fan of the club."
The star midfielder also thanked Pep Guardiola, his teammates and the fans for their endless support. He called on fans to enjoy the final weeks of the current season and continue to believe in the team.
