"Benfica's" Norwegian forward Andreas Schjelderup has been sentenced in Denmark to a 14-day suspended prison sentence and one year of probation for sharing a sexually explicit video involving minors.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to VG.
After admitting guilt, he stated that he released the 27-second video in November 2023. The court noted that Schjelderup was sent the material, but he did not seek it out and deleted it after realizing his actions were illegal.
In early November, Schjelderup apologized on social media. The Norwegian Football Association considered the sanction sufficient; he played 20 minutes in the match against Estonia, but remained on the bench in the game against Italy. Schjelderup has made 17 appearances and scored two goals for "Benfica" this season.
