Interview of Behruz Teymurov, who left "Karvan", to Sport24.az
- What was the main reason for parting ways with the representative of Yevlakh?
- They didn't give me the money I wanted. I didn't agree either.
- Was the difference between the amount you wanted and the amount offered large?
- Not really. The club offered me 2500 manats salary. I also had good options in the First League. They were also offering good money. I didn't agree to 2500 manats. But they promised that the salary would increase if they qualified for the Premier League after January. That month, I received offers from "Gabala" and "Imishli". The finances were also good. They just cheated me. When the team reached the Premier League, there was an offer of 2500. I didn't agree either. I also felt that the head coach (Red: Kanan Kerimov) didn't trust me. When there were offers from other teams, they also called him. He told me to go and earn my money in the First League. I was offended by this word. After that, our relations deteriorated and I did not agree.
- Do you have any offers now?
- Of course. But those clubs make empty promises. You go, you help, and then they send you away. Everything is until you get promoted to the Premier League. After that, they send the players away. They don't keep them. I have many offers. But I don't want to go.
- So where will you continue your career?
- In the "Khankendi" club, which won a ticket to the Second League. God is my witness that I did not go to this club to make money. It's a lie. I'm going to the person I've been friends with for more than 10 years. I don't even know how much I'm going to earn there. There was no talk of money between us.
- You also contributed to "Karvan"'s promotion to the Premier League. Couldn't the club agree with you?
- The whole of Yevlakh, the football community knows that I was the reason for reaching the Premier League. I brought most of the players to the team. My contribution to their reaching this situation is great. Kanan muellim, Zaur muellim know this very well. All the management and fans also know. If I hadn't come, the team wouldn't have been able to rise to the elite. But they ate my right. I don't forgive them. In the second half of the season, I had a good offer from "Gabala". I could have left. I didn't leave the team in a bad situation. They said that when they reached the Premier League, the salary would increase and everything would be fine. They offered only 500 manats more than what I received in the First League. I didn't want to either.
- You also said that your relationship with the head coach Kanan Kerimov deteriorated...
- He recommended me to the First League. He said to earn good money there. "Shafa" offered 4500 manats. He said to help them. I guess he said that because he didn't want to see me in the Premier League. He doesn't trust. There is a good example: "Everything is until you cross the ditch". After that, everyone changes. Kanan became like that too. Not 100 percent, but 190 percent changed. I didn't expect that from him. He didn't stand behind us as a local. But I stood behind the team. It's football. I've seen everything in this field.
- What do you think will be the goals in "Khankendi"?
- I believe that the first goal is the First League, and then we can claim the Premier League. That team has big goals. Some sites write that I went for money. But that's not the case. God is my witness. I don't even know how much salary I will get. I will just help them to achieve their goals.
