The future of 26-year-old French defender Ibrahima Konate, who plays for "Liverpool", remains uncertain, and Bundesliga representative "Bayern" is closely monitoring his situation.
İdman.Biz reports that, according to BILD, "Liverpool" has offered Konate a new contract and is waiting for the player to make a decision.
If the defender, whose contract expires at the end of the season, does not accept the terms, the English club may be forced to sell him in January so as not to lose him for free in the summer.
The report states that "Liverpool" can immediately direct the funds from the sale of Konate to strengthen the squad. Central defender Mark Guehi is indicated as the main transfer target for this purpose.
"Bayern"'s interest in Konate is related to the future of the team's other defender, Dayo Upamekano. His contract also expires at the end of the season, and no new agreement has yet been reached between the parties. If Upamekano renews his contract, the Munich club is ready to keep the defense line as it is, otherwise Konate's transfer may be on the agenda.
