"Bayern" has reached an agreement in principle to extend the contract of team defender Dayot Upamekano.
İdman.Biz reports with reference to Bild that the club and the player have agreed on his base salary, bonuses and transfer fee. The player's buyout clause remains a controversial issue.
"Bayern" is aware that it will only renew Upamekano's contract if the sales clause is in effect. The club wants this clause to come into effect in 2028, while the player's representatives are demanding that it come into effect sooner. However, extending the contract remains the most likely outcome. The player's current contract with the Munich club expires in June 2026.
Upamekano joined Bayern in the summer of 2021 from RB Leipzig. This season, the football player has appeared in 20 matches in all club competitions and scored one goal. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is 60 million euros.
