Today, March 15, Barcelona club is holding presidential elections for the next five-year term. The voting process is considered one of the most organized elections in the club's history.
İdman.Biz reports with reference to the club's official website that 114,504 members with voting rights are making their choice in a total of five different locations, including Barcelona, as well as Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and Andorra. The elections are scheduled for the same day as the club's match against Sevilla, which creates additional conditions for fans to both vote and come to the stadium.
The main struggle for the presidential post is between the current leader Joan Laporta and his main rival, the well-known businessman Viktor Font. The official results of the vote are expected to be announced tonight, after all ballots have been counted.
It should be noted that the winning candidate will lead the future development strategy of the "blue-garnets" during 2026–2031.
