Spanish football club "Barcelona" has withdrawn from the Super League project.
Lent.az reports that club president Joan Laporta made a statement to journalists about this.
"The reasons are simple. We are working on creating a connection between UEFA and the Super League. The change in the Champions League format has improved the overall form of the tournament, which means a 20% increase in revenue. We supported the Super League project, but we see positive dynamics within UEFA. With the exception of the issue of managing and organizing the competitions, the proposals within the Super League were accepted by UEFA," Laporta said.
It should be reminded that the Super League project was announced on April 19, 2021 by 12 leading European clubs. Currently, only "Real Madrid" remains in this project.
