Barcelona vice-president Elena Fort has rejected the idea of renaming the team's home stadium, "Camp Nou," in honor of 38-year-old Argentine forward Lionel Messi.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to Cadena SER.
"There are many other, more effective ways to immortalize his memory," Fort said.
Previously, the Spanish press had put forward the idea of renaming the renovated "Camp Nou" stadium in honor of Lionel Messi.
The footballer played for the Catalan club from 2000 to 2021. The Argentine is Barcelona's all-time top scorer with 672 goals in 778 matches. While playing for "Blaugrana," Messi won the "Golden Ball" award seven times.
