Mario Alberto Pineida Martinez, 33, defender of Ecuador's "Barcelona SC", has died as a result of an armed attack in Guayaquil.
İdman.Biz, citing "AP News", reports that Pineida's wife also died in the attack, while his mother was injured. Pineida's team confirmed the news with an official statement.
Ecuadorian police are investigating the fact and a special police group has been appointed to investigate the armed attack. The Guayaquil region has recently become a place where the level of violence has increased under the influence of drug cartels and criminal gangs.
