"Barcelona" and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny agreed last summer on an extension of the contract, under which the 35-year-old goalkeeper can be released for about 2 million euros.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to Sport.es.
According to the source, 2 million euros is less than the Polish player's salary under the contract until the summer of 2027.
The Catalan club is working on updating its goalkeeping squad. If "Blaugrana" implements its plans, Szczęsny's contract may be terminated at the end of the season.
The Polish player has been playing for "Barcelona" since October 2024. This season, Szczęsny has appeared in nine matches in all competitions and conceded 17 goals. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is 900 thousand euros.
