"Barcelona" may temporarily leave "Camp Nou" again due to the installation of a new roof. This was reported by the Diari ARA portal, Sport24.az reports.
The installation of the roof, scheduled for the summer of 2027, will take longer than expected. The club initially expected the completion time to be about four and a half months, but engineers say it will take up to seven months, during which it will be impossible to hold games at the stadium.
A while ago, the club's chief operating officer Joan Centelles said that the team plans to play the last three games of the 2026/27 season and the first three games of the next season away in order to speed up the work.
If necessary, the Catalans can temporarily move to the Estadi Johan Cruyff stadium or return to the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. However, the latter option is undesirable due to financial costs. The former does not meet La Liga's capacity requirements (minimum 15,000 seats).
Club president Joan Laporta is considering increasing the capacity of the Estadi Johan Cruyff stadium from 6,000 to 16,000. However, this requires permission from the city authorities.
It should be noted that the recently renovated Camp Nou has already partially reopened, and Barcelona's match with Sevilla was watched by approximately 60,000 spectators.
